Stay on Klotok in Tanjung Puting National Park is a truly a once in a lifetime experience! This traditional houseboat serves as transport, restaurant, generally for up to four passengers. Mattresses and bedding will be provided on the deck of the boat which has wooden roof stretching about 12 feet. The ends and sides are open to the elements but you will have a mosquito net tightly wrapped around the whole area. There is a simple cold water shower at one end of the boat along with a western style simple toilet. The boat crew includes a boatman, a cook and a tour guide. A good variety of Indonesian meals are served on the boat (breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon snack); coffee, tea and drinking water are readily available throughout the day.

It is possible to stay on board a klotok boat and venture deep into the jungle, or stay at the more comfortable accommodation available at Rimba Eco Lodge, which has a beautiful setting beside the Sungai Sekonyer River just outside the Park's boundary. The new rooms come with hot water, air-conditioner, and mosquito nets. Facilities include bird watching tower and restaurant. During the day take a klotok into the park, where you can explore the jungle looking for wild orangutans and enjoy the sounds of nature at its finest.
